Help students select challenges that are meaningful to them. - Verizon Innovative Learning Schools

Help students select challenges that are meaningful to them.

Are you helping all learners select challenges that are meaningful to themselves and their community?

Try this in your classroom!

Find out what your students do when they aren’t at school: What do they care about? What challenges are they dealing with? Look at your curriculum. Can you create a thematic unit that allows students to explore these passions? If you get stuck, sit down with a coworker who is really good at backwards design.
